IGGYS COFFEE IS A ECOMMERCE STORE, THAT WAS STARTED IN 2011 BY BROTHERS, ALEKS, NIK AND KIRE TO CONTINUE WITH THE FAMILY COFFEE LEGACY, THAT DATES BACK TO 1985.

OUR SPECIALITY IS THE IN-HOUSE ROASTING OF OUR BESPOKE COFFEE VARIETIES, NAMELY THE EXCLUSIVO AGED COFFEES, FROM PAPUA NEW GUINEA, ETHIOPIA AND KENYA.

    

 

THESE CAREFULLY CHOSEN ARABICA VARIETIES, HAVE BEEN PURPOSELY AGED TO REDUCE THEIR ACIDITY AND BRING OUT THEIR UNIQUE AROMAS AND BODY TEXTURE.

FROM AN EARLY AGE, WE HELPED OUT MUM AND DAD IN THEIR COFFEE ROASTERY BUSINESS, AND THAT’S HOW WE WERE INTRODUCED TO THE MAGIC AND EXOTIC FRUIT KNOW AS THE COFFEE CHERRY. 

TO GAIN THE NECESSARY COFFEE INDUSTRY SKILLS, WE WORKED IN HOSPITALITY, AT A HIGH PROFILE CAFE, ALSO OPERATED A DOWNTOWN BRISBANE COFFEE SHOP, RAN A STALL AT THE NORTHEY STREET ORGANIC MARKETS, EXHIBITED PRODUCTS AT VARIOUS TRADE SHOWS, BOTH LOCAL AND INTERSTATE.  

WE ROTATED OUR WORK, BETWEEN THE CITY CAFE AND THE NEWMARKET BASED COFFEE ROASTERY, WE LEARNT A LOT ABOUT COFFEE AS WE HELPED OUT MUM AND DAD.

COFFEE ROASTING CAN BE QUITE CHALLENGING AT TIMES, AND REQUIRES UNINTERRUPTED CONCENTRATION DURING THE PROCESS.  AT IGGYS COFFEE, WE ALL HAVE THE EXPERTISE TO METICULOUSLY ROAST AND GRIND THE COFFEE. 

ONCE THE COFFEE BATCH HAS FINISHED, IT IS CRITICAL THAT THE BEANS ARE COOLED RAPIDLY, THE HEAT IS EXTRACTED FROM THE REVOLVING COOLER TRAY, THIS COOLING PROCESS USUALLY TAKES ABOUT SEVEN TO TEN MINUTES.
